CANNES YACHTING FESTIVAL 2017
|Author – Rowan McMahon ( QLD State Manager)|
2017 Cannes Yachting Festival was an amazing event to attend, with every brand Eyachts represents on display it was a no brainer for both Dan Jones ( NSW State Manager) and I ( QLD State Manager) to make the long journey to experience what the South Of France has to offer. We decided to throw away our Bagette’s and Beret’s, put on the chinos and linen shirts to visit all our brands and see what else is in the pipe works in the boating world.
Sealine had on display their debut of the C530 which houses copious amounts of space and entertaining area, plus massive master cabin and guests suits, the World unveiling of the C430 with aft deck wetbar, which is perfect for every occasion and my personal favorite also got nominated for European Power Boat Of The Year 2018. This will make 2 years in a row a new Sealine model has made the prestigious nomination.
Fjord also with a World Premiere of the 36 Express a very impressive boat that drew lots of attention, powered by twin 350hp Mercury giving it a top speed of 40knots, rumor has it Seven Marine Engines may make an appearance on the back of this boat in the future. Fjord also had their 40, 42 and beautiful 48 Open on display, these are the ideal day boat for every occasion and a perfect day boat to blast around Sydney Harbour, The Gold Coast Water Ways or anywhere you want to look cool and stand out from the crowd.
Axopar had on the water the 24 open and a 37 Suntop and Sport Cabin, these boat were not going to win the largest boat contest at the show but hands down won the “cool boat factor”. We have customers wanting an Axopar for every purpose; run about boat, ski boat, fishing boat, diving boat, restaurant hopper, taxi service, tenders to their super yachts and also to drive really fast. Axopars big boat show news is in 2018 they will be launching the “Brabus Shadow 800” this will be a limited edition model powered by twin 400hp Mercury Racing Verado Engines. While information is still limited Dusseldorf Boat Show will be its first viewing to the public.
Greenline had 3 boats on display, the World Unveiling of the 65 Ocean Class is an amazing piece of machinery, the 48 and the 39 sitting proud next door to their big brother. Eyachts had the 39 and 48 at Sydney Boat Show which defiantly drew the attention of the masses and rightfully so but the 65 Ocean Class is in a new division of its own. Massive interior with generous use of space in the salon and staterooms, with the detail on any high end super yacht, Greenline is a name you will start to hear more of in the near future.
Vanquish had on display their sleek and beautiful 48, a simple yet defined sport boat every millionaire needs to experience and own. A boat specifically designed to keep everyone dry, have plenty of space for entertaining, versatile with customization plus built for speed and sex appeal. Vanquish has released their latest 2 models the 43 mark 2 which is the re-design of the original 43, they have given the mark 2 more beam, more freeboard which in turn gives more entertaining room outside, larger cabin and galley down stairs and deeper walk a-rounds for added safety especially when the family is on board. The Vanqcraft 16 was the other star attraction at the Vanquish stand, a crossover between superyacht tender and a water scooter, this is a seriously fun little boat but you better hold onto your hat when onboard as this little pocket rocket is capable of upto 50kn.
Outer Reef show cased their 630 Classic, an absolutely stunning motor yacht that has taken the brand to where it is today as one of the most prestigious yacht manufacturers in the market. Now with the new Trident series in full swing, Outer Reef is bringing a more modern designed yacht with long range cruising capability into the new era of boating. With boat owners buying bigger and bigger boats, wanting to travel further into remote areas and still be self sufficient The ORY is defiantly a serious contender and one worth considering.
