NEW AXOPAR 38 Cross Cabin
The Next Legend in All-Weather Adventure Boating
The all- new Axopar 38 XC delivers refined performance, comfort, and superior customisation for Australian and New Zealand boating
The Axopar 38 Cross Cabin (XC) is the next chapter of adventure boating, built as a true all weather boat with a noticeably more refined, complete feel than previous generations. It takes the proven Axopar Cross Cabin concept and elevates it with a larger, brighter wheelhouse, improved onboard comfort, and a layout designed to be easier, safer, and more enjoyable for both experienced skippers and first-time owners.
At the heart of the Axopar 38 XC is a reimagined hull focused on balance, confidence, and control. Axopar’s approach remains clear, they build from the ground up, starting with the hull, weight distribution, and hydrodynamics first, then layering in the usability and comfort that owners want. The result is a cross cabin boat that feels calm and predictable at speed, stable at rest, and genuinely quiet underway thanks to extensive engineering and noise reduction testing.
For Australia and New Zealand, this is where the Axopar 38 Cross Cabin really shines. It is built for big days that start early and run late, for variable conditions, and for boating that blends cruising, entertaining, and exploring across seasons. With improved ventilation options like the openable aft window, plus protected, social spaces throughout the wheelhouse and aft deck, it is made for real use in real climates, from summer heat to shoulder-season coastal runs.
Just as importantly, the Axopar 38 Cross Cabin introduces the brand’s most advanced level of superior customisation yet. From bow social layouts to aft deck configurations, activity platforms, interior modules, and engine packages, there are over 900 unique configurations, meaning owners can tailor the boat to exactly how they actually spend time on the water, without compromising the fundamentals that matter most: drivability, seakeeping, and smart design execution.

Who is the Axopar 38 XC for?
The Axopar 38 Cross Cabin is designed for boaters who want confidence, comfort, and capability in all conditions, without sacrificing performance or versatility. As an all-weather cross cabin boat, it suits owners who boat year-round, travel further offshore, and value intelligent design that works just as well on a short day trip as it does on extended coastal adventures.
This is a boat for people who want a refined, complete package rather than a single-purpose platform.

Designed from the Waterline Up: The Axopar 38 Hull Design and Performance
At the core of the Axopar 38 Cross Cabin is a hull developed by renowned naval architect Jarkko Jämsén, whose design philosophy has shaped every Axopar since the beginning. Rather than starting with layouts or visual features, Axopar builds boats from the ground up, beginning with balance, hydrodynamics, and real-world behaviour on the water.
Jämsén’s work on the Axopar 38 hull focuses heavily on controlled balance, reducing tipping moments, improving stability both at rest and underway, and managing spray dispersion in demanding conditions. The result is a boat that feels calm, predictable, and confidence-inspiring, whether cruising offshore at speed or sitting comfortably at anchor. This balance is not accidental; it comes from carefully calculated weight distribution combined with advanced hydrodynamic and aerodynamic design.
While many boats in this segment may look similar at a glance, the execution and reasoning behind the Axopar hull is where the real separation lies.
“It’s interesting because many of the ideas that you see in these hulls, you see similar things in the market, but I can see that they haven’t understood why we have done these things. So they are visually similar, but the reason why they are done are not executed.” – Jarkko Jämsén, Yacht Designer.
The Axopar 38 hull is approximately 25 percent lighter than many competitors in its class, improving efficiency, responsiveness, and overall seakeeping without sacrificing strength or durability. This lighter structure works hand in hand with Axopar’s continual push for fuel efficiency and offshore capability, allowing owners to travel further, more comfortably, and with lower running costs. The twin-stepped 22-degree V-hull delivers sharp handling and precise control, maintaining Axopar’s reputation for industry-leading drivability.
The development of the Axopar 38 did not stop at performance alone. The boat underwent more than two years of extensive testing, including dedicated decibel testing for sound insulation. By increasing hull rigidity through an overbuilt stringer system and minimising unwanted flex, Axopar has significantly reduced hull resonance. The result is a noticeably quieter ride, where conversations remain clear even at cruising speeds, adding to the sense of refinement onboard.
“Driveability, handling, agility, adaptability to any changing sea state conditions, to be able to safely and securely take people to a designated destination in any season, at any time of day, in any sort of conditions. The amount of work that has been put into the Axopar 38 to make that happen is something nobody will ever see.” – Jan-Erik Vittala, Axopar Founding Partner. Chief Creative and Innovative Officer.
The Axopar 38 Cross Cabin is not designed to impress at the dock alone. It is engineered to perform where it matters most, offshore, in changing conditions, and across long days on the water. This is performance built on reasoning, experience, and relentless refinement.
Key Features of the Axopar 38 Cross Cabin
At its core, the Axopar 38 Cross Cabin is engineered from the ground up rather than built around surface-level layouts or gimmicks. An optimised strength-to-weight structure, extensive two-year development and testing program, and obsessive attention to real-world usability ensure the boat feels solid, quiet, and composed in all conditions. This focus on structural integrity, intelligent design, and durability forms the foundation for every Axopar 38, before any customisation or optional features are added.

Why the Axopar 38 Sets a New Benchmark for Adventure Boating in Australia
Since launching the first Axopar in 2014, co-founder Jan-Erik Viitala and the Axopar team have reshaped modern boating by creating the adventure boat category. Axopar designs boats from the hull up, prioritising balance, efficiency, and real-world usability before layouts or visual trends. The result is a range of modular, fuel-efficient, offshore-capable boats that inspire confidence in all conditions.
At the heart of every Axopar is lead designer Jarkko Jämsén, whose hull designs are widely regarded as some of the most advanced in the industry. His focus on weight distribution, stability at rest and underway, spray control, and refined hydrodynamics defines the Axopar DNA. With the Axopar 38, this philosophy has been taken further than ever before, delivering a hull that is lighter, quieter, more efficient, and more confidence-inspiring, even as onboard comfort and volume increase.
The Axopar 38 range represents the most ambitious development in the brand’s history. Available in four models, Cross Cabin, Sun Top, Cross Top, and CCX, the 38 is designed to suit a broader range of boating styles than ever before. Whether you prioritise all-weather protection, open-air cruising, social day boating, fishing, or extended adventures, the Axopar 38 offers a level of customisation and refinement that sets it apart in its class.
Axopar is exclusively represented in Australia and New Zealand by Eyachts. Since introducing the brand locally in 2015, Eyachts has delivered over 350 Axopars across the region and built one of the strongest owner communities in the market. From Rottnest Island and the Whitsundays to Pittwater, Sydney Harbour, and New Zealand’s rugged coastline, the Axopar 38 is perfectly suited to the diverse conditions and adventurous boating culture of Australia and New Zealand.
When you choose the Axopar 38, you are not just stepping into the next model, you are stepping into the next chapter of adventure boating, supported by a trusted local team who understand how these boats are meant to be used, and where they truly come alive.

Why She Kept the Boat After Loss– A Female Skipper’s Axopar 37 Sun Top Review – Jasmyn
After losing her husband, Jasmyn Wright took the helm of their Axopar 37 Sun Top, a boat he had carefully chosen for the family. Now a solo female skipper, Jasmyn continues to use the boat with her adult children for weekend getaways, water sports, and time together on the WA coast.
“I drive it, I berth it, I feel really safe, even in the unpredictable WA wind. It’s comfortable, it handles well, and it gives me the confidence to get out there on my own. We ski, we snorkel, we stay overnight, we even take it to Mandurah for the holidays. It really does everything. That’s why I say it’s the perfect boat for WA life. Honestly, I wouldn’t give this up for anything.”
“We’ve had boats before that got tossed and turned everywhere, but with the Axopar’s hull design, it just cuts through the water. You feel so much more stable and in control,” added son Kyle.

Is the Axopar 37 Cross Cabin the Best Family Day Boat in Australia? – John
John, Axopar 37 Cross Cabin owner from Perth, says,
“I’ve got a family of three, twin girls who are seven and a nine-year-old, and it’s just the ideal family day boat. It’s very typical in the afternoon here to have strong southwesterlies, 15 to 20 knots. The kids get a bit cool, so I chose the Cross Cabin. It gives them protection, they have fun all day with the water toys, then come in to warm up, have something to eat, maybe rest on the daybed. It just allows us to have a full day of enjoyment without whiny kids at 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Mum and Dad are really happy too. We love our Axopar, it’s a great boat, a lot of fun, and ideal for Perth.”

Looking for the Best 37 Foot Boat? Why They Chose the Axopar 37 – Nikki Durden
Nikki two time Axopar 37 owner says, “The Axopar is a brilliant day boat. It cuts through the water beautifully but is also incredibly comfortable. There’s plenty of space for friends and family, and we love how versatile it is for both adventure and relaxation. What was really nice about buying the Axopar was that it felt like a bespoke boat for us. It wasn’t just off the production line—Eyachts helped us tailor it to exactly what we wanted, and nothing was too hard”
