Well…  2017 has flown past and with just over 6 weeks to Christmas we are well and truly into the festive season as the calendars are filling up with BBQ’s, parties, lunches, picnics on the water and other shenanigans.

This month, Dan Jones, NSW state manager talks to us about why he is in awe of the new Sealine C430 after viewing it at the world premier at Cannes Yachting Festival, read about the epic journey of “Argo” Outer Reef Yacht exploring the Entire South American coast, see the stunning drone footage of the new Fjord 42 owner enjoying his new boat, watch the cool new Vanquish video and get a wrap up of the Auckland on the water boat show.

If you are looking for an experience and not just a boat show then Cannes is definitely it. From super yachts, to choppers and super cars you will see it all at Cannes glistening in the warm Mediterranean sun. The Hanse Group was by far the biggest of the German manufacturers on display with representation across all of their brands and the Sealine display was one not to miss.

The team spent a wonderful few days in Auckland on the water Boat Show meeting all the passionate Kiwi boaters and discovering what a boating obsessed nation New Zealand really is. It was no surprise that NZ has the America’s Cup as the Kiwi’s general knowledge of all things boating was incredibly high. No explanation was necessary when showing the Axopar 37 to the public as they immediately saw the Axe bow, Deep V and Air Step hull and began discussing what sort of adventure they could have on the Axopar. People interested in the Axopar were everything from offshore fisherman, divers, superyacht owners and city workers looking for a faster way to get to their batch (aka holiday house).

Stories of the Hauraki Gulf and the changeable conditions were backed up by the 20 seasons we received each day during the show. From bright sunshine to howling gale in 5 minutes it was clear that the Axopar Cabin is the boat of choice for NZ conditions. Discussing the 35-40 Kts cruise speeds of the Axopar 37 there were many comments like “we can do Waiheke Island and back for lunch – Oh that’s sweet bro”.

With the first Axopar 37 Cabin selling at the show and more on the way – we think this is pretty sweet too!

“With barren seascapes and wild weather patterns, only the courageous get to enjoy the raw natural beauty of Chilean Patagonia.”

Read the epic journey of Outer Reef Yacht  880 “ Argo” exploring the entire South American coast before rounding Cape Horn. “This inspirational story in the November issue of Boat International makes you want to sell up and go on a trip of a lifetime like this.

The Axopar 24 has arrived at the Gold Coast Showroom and will be available to test drive. Contact us if you are would like to arrange a test drive.

Axopar 24 is being stored in “Sea Pen” so the boat doesn’t live in salt water which avoids the need to clean the bottom of the boat of barnicals and sea growth. A really great idea for these high performance boats.

A unique video was made about the VQ54 on the initiative of Vanquish Yachts founder and owner Tom Steentjes. His concept is actually a translation of a dream he once had about having his own yard where fast, high-quality aluminium boats would be made. Establishing his own yard was a non-negotiable part of the plan, as he knew he could never find an existing site which would satisfy his demand for quality and provide the freedom to create such exceptional designs. We hope you enjoy this video as much as we did.
